Cannabis Research: A List of Fascinating Studies on Cannabinoids
Did you know that 12% of Americans are now regular cannabis users? One reason for this is this trend is that cannabis-derived products are easier to get, and in many states legal.
However, another reason is the growing amount of cannabis research out there. Numerous studies on cannabinoids — the compounds found in cannabis, like THC and CBD — are convincing many people to give it a try.
In this article, we’ve assembled a list of some of the recent scholarship that’s being done on cannabis-derived compounds. That way, you can keep up-to-date on the latest trends in the industry.
CBD Might Prevent COVID-19
We’re likely all familiar with the fact that CBD, or cannabinoidal, has strong anti-inflammatory properties that help with certain types of pain. But, did you know that it can also block the development of COVID-19 in our cells?
In this experiment, researchers treated patients’ lungs with CBD for two hours. Then, they exposed them to COVID-19 cells. The study showed that active cannabinoids capable of preventing COVID-19 cells from replicating.
While it’s not the cure for COVID, this does have promising potential for preventing its spread.
Delta 8 THC Prevents Vomiting With Cancer Patients
Treating hematologic cancers requires patients to take antineoplastic drugs for up to eight months. While these drugs attack cancer they also make the patients incredibly nauseous.
This leads to vomiting and weight loss, both of which worsen immune systems. However, Delta 8 THC shows significant promise in preventing it together.
Of the 480 individuals that took both antineoplastic drugs and Delta 8, no one vomited. So, if you struggle with nausea.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s from antineoplastic drugs or another condition, if you have nausea you might want to consider trying Delta 8 carts.
Cannabinoids Are More Effective When Taken Together
Often you will see products that use synthetic cannabinoids to isolate things like CBD. But, this study suggests that you shouldn’t do this. Instead, consider taking products with a full spectrum of cannabinoids in them.
Why? Because of the entourage effect. This is a theory that cannabinoids are more effective at treating mood conditions, like anxiety and depression, when they’re taken altogether.
This is because cannabis is not a singular molecular compound. It contains hundreds of different cannabinoids that interact with our CB1 and CB2 receptors in unique ways.
